A PACKING GUIDE
- GEAR -
SHELTER
Typically, this is a tent. Some opted for digging foxholes last year. Ask Nico and Johnny for a tutorial on that one.
WATER BOTTLE
This should be large enough to quench your thirst for the full 6+ mile hike. You can refill this at the campsite.
SUN PROTECTION
Hat, sunglasses, sunscreen. You know the drill.
SLEEPING BAG + MAT
Prep for High / Low of 71° F / 57° F
PROPER SHOES
This is all relative to your needs. Just prepare for a solid hike. Shoes with good support is highly recommended.
LIGHTS
A headlamp, lantern, and flashlights are all recommended, unless you’re a cyborg and have built-in night vision.
BACKPACK
A quality backpacking pack that allows you to carry weight on the hips is necessary for maximum comfort.
TOILETRIES
Don't be a savage. We won't be showering for a few, but brushing your teeth is encouraged. Ladies, word on the street is baby wipes and face wipes are pretty epic if you want to stay extra fresh!
- CLOTHING -
THICK SOCKS
Blisters are a bitch. Thick socks will protect you from that.
SWIMWEAR
When the sun is up, you're laying on the sand or in the water. Kinis and trunks are key.
LIGHT JACKET
It can get nippy at night. Pack a jacket or sweatshirt.
- FOOD & DRINK -
FOOD
Whatever you can carry, you can eat. Some opt for dehydrated space food, while others are pack mules and bring a full kitchen line up. Consult with your friend group about your food situation. Collaborating helps distribute the load. This is a BYOF event.
COOKWARE
Plate, cup, silverware for yourself, cooking vessel (Jetboil or pot), propane/fuel, and matches to share with your friend group.
BOOZE
Whatever you can carry, you can drink. This is a BYOB event.
- EXTRAS -
DIVE & FISH
Eric and Tyler are the diving gurus. If you want to dive and fish, please get in touch with them.
MUSIC
Each group should bring their own speaker. Without electricity, we tend to run low on battery power with just one speaker for the weekend. Let’s keep the music alive! Talk with your mates about your tunes supply.
PLAY
Floaties, volleyballs, cards, you decide. If you can carry it, you can bring it!
